Hear's To Another Year of Healthful Balance

Goodness! It's been quite a while since I wrote an update on here. There's been such a lot going on for all of us. I sincerely hope that you and yours are well and managing to adjust to all the new challenges that the pandemic has brought to us and our way of interacting with each other.

In order to do my bit, I aim to regularly share practical health advice on both my Instagram and Facebook pages. This ranges from practical suggestions as to how we can keep our immune systems as strong as possible to ideas for stress support and self care. There are some highlighted stories on my Instagram page with herbal immune support ideas and cold and 'flu remedy suggestions. If you haven't yet joined me on there you may find it helpful.

The clinic has been extremely busy, with demand for consultations outstripping my availability and I've had to put in place a waiting list system. If you would like a new patient appointment, please email me with a very brief summary of what's going on. I'll do my best to fit you as soon as I can but realistically I'm booking at least eight weeks ahead. If you're an existing patient currently undergoing a course of treatment we'll be booking slots as we go, so you'll be able to have follow up appointments as usual. However, please bear in mind that my diary has very little leeway for last minute changes to follow up consultations. If you do need to change your appointment you may need to wait a few weeks for a replacement.

I've been seeing the majority of my patients via Zoom since the start of the pandemic. This has actually worked very well and seems to be the best way to reduce transmission to vulnerable patients and keep my clinic running as smoothly as possible. Much as I would love to go back to seeing everyone in person again, it's rather dependent on the current situation as regards infection rates, new variants etc. The wonderful thing about working on Zoom is that I'm able to help patients who not only live throughout the UK, but also all over the world.

My Patreon scheme has been pretty much consistently sold out and I'm loving the little community which is evolving on there. It's proving a good way of helping more people to get involved with growing, gathering and making their own herbal medicines. I have plans to add a home herbalist's tier in the future but at the moment there's the smallish matter of my second book deadline approaching and I need to spend every spare minute on that. This time I'm writing about the herbs in my dispensary and all of their special virtues for medicine. My aim is to create a herbal which helps people to properly get to know herbs as individuals rather than lists of 'what they do'. I should finish it this spring (fingers crossed) and then it will take a year for editing, design, layout and printing etc. I'll keep you posted!

Apart from a busy clinic, my Patreon scheme and writing my second book, I have some other pretty exciting stuff bubbling away in the background. I'm not ready to share exactly what it's all about but I can't wait to be able to tell you and explain how you can get involved. All I can say for now is watch this space and all will be revealed.

On a practical note, I've had to put in place a price increase both for consultations and herbal medicines. It's probably long overdue as I've kept my prices steady since 2017. Unfortunately recent pressures on the economy and my own suppliers have made it essential that I bite the bullet and ask you to do the same. Please check my prices page to see what this entails.

Most importantly, please look after yourself. Remember that your body is an amazing resource, its whole purpose being to keep you well and to help you get the most out of life. All you need to do is look after it as best as you can. If I can help you with that, then you know where I am!
